(10 minute read) Thinking back to the playground bully can add some critical perspective to events going on in our world today.  Though some of us were probably fortunate to have never experienced a playground bully, I’d guess that the vast majority of us have.  We know the fear that they spread and the control that they command.  They make it known to everyone on the playground that they will always get their way or there will be consequences for anyone who does not submit to their will.  They often don’t even have to specifically say “You’ll do as I say or I’m going to pound you into the pavement.”  They say it once, they make the first dissenter pay with a lot of pain, and then their reputation spreads.
