Choosing other sources for news
It’s vitally important that we consciously choose our sources for news and for explanations of what’s happening in our world. What we hear from the Main Stream Media (MSM), our universities, Hollywood, and most of our world governments is founded on the current culture’s common understanding (majority opinion of the moment) and not on an objective set of lasting principles. It’s certainly not based on foundational beliefs in the one true God.
See the middle chapters (chapters 3 through 8) in Why Is This Happening?! for a detailed explanation of the importance of this. In these days, it’s critically important that you know what you believe and why. We are running out of time to hitch our future to the right wagon. If you were in the 1800’s and hitched yourself up to a wagon train that was headed into the northern Rockies right as winter set in, you likely would be setting your course for a slow, miserable death. You may have been naïve about what lies ahead and you may have had great intentions, but that decision would have likely lead to your death nonetheless. Our culture faces just as dire consequences, but most of us are likewise naïve about what we face.
Here are some links to several organizations that we trust to add proper perspective to today’s news with a short explanation of why we value their content.
Cold Case Christianity
J. Warner Wallace has written multiple books that give overwhelming evidence for the truth of the Bible and specifically that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The evidence is overwhelming for those who consider it. It’s important that you know what the foundation of your truth is that you are hitching your wagon to. Once you are confident that God’s own words are the truth you should rely on, you’re on the right path to being able to understand what’s happening in our world and why. If you’re a sceptic and will only listen to the words of a former sceptic, these books are for you. The author considered himself an angry atheist, but he was compelled to use his police detective experience, in which he learned to never trust anyone and to trust only the facts. He investigates the evidence for the argument that Jesus Christ was a real person and also the Son of God. If you don’t want to know the truth, don’t read these!
The Case for Faith
Lee Strobel has written a number of books which “Make the Case” for a variety of truths. Lee was also an atheist, and an award-winning legel reporter for the Chicago Tribune. He planned to use his investigative techniques and strong skepticism to prove Christianity wrong, but instead the evidence convinced him to believe in God and in Jesus Christ. His books are all easy reads and they make very strong arguments that the Bible is true. His works include:

WND and Whistleblower magazine
WND is an outstanding resource for keeping up with current events and interpreting them from a Christian perspective. It’s the one website where I have to go daily. I love the work that Joseph Farah, David Kupelian and their staff does because they share the same desire to interpret everything from the one true perspective. They have interesting, new content every day. Whitleblower magazine devotes each entire issue to a new topic and explains it in great detail. I’ll occasionally share links to some of their most compelling articles.
Answers in Genesis
For many people, they have trouble accepting that the Bible is true because of how it supposedly conflicts with science. If you’ve read Why Is This Happening?! and read much of the content on this site, you’ll know that I believe the evidence is actually overwhelming that much of the science we teach in the government schools is not supported by true science. If you do your own investigating and honestly evaluate all the objective evidence, you’ll agree.
This opened my eyes to the plethora of lies we hear throughout our culture. Answers is genesis is THE best place to go for help investigating this. They have tons of articles, books and videos. They even have an extensive museum in Kentucky just outside of Cincinnati, and they are also the ones that advertise that gigantic ark you see advertised on television. A walk through The Ark provides ample evidence that the theory (emphasis on theory) of evolution doesn’t align with true objective, verifiable scientific evidence.
